I challenge you from now on when you're thinking about your nutrition, fitness or anything to really embrace and be proud of all your accomplishments. Celebrate them, do a dance, sing out loud , and tell someone else. It makes a difference.
You are most likely spending 1 hour a day, or 3-5 hours a week working hard to achieve your weight loss goals. Of course, what you do at the gym is an integral part of looking and feeling better, but it is not THE deciding factor.
I've always been asked how did you make that? Luckily for me playing in the kitchen has always been fun. I realize it's not so that easy for everyone else. I'm embarking on a new effort to share my Kitchen Adventures with the world.
Stay Refreshed Without the Added Calories
Alcoholic beverages sound like the way to go on a hot day BBQ. Many of our refreshing summer cocktails are loaded with sugar. A Pina Colada contains 31 grams of sugar. Try a flavored sparkling water or adding a piece of lemon to your glass of water.
Fast forward a few hours. Husband chimes in with Hey Babe do you need me to help you get rid of those cookies. Oh no I'm found out he knows exactly what I've been doing.
Me: Yes please get rid of them, but let me have one more
Him: Okay I'll hide them
Me: You should probably throw them out
Him: Really? Can't I just hide them?
Me: No, I'll probably pull the kitchen apart looking for them.
Him: Okay :(
Me: In fact why don't you put them way down in the garbage with some other stuff on top of it.
Him: Really is it that bad?
Me: Yes for the love of god how can you not understand I need to eat them, I know I don't need them but I just can't stop myself.
Seriously this is all true stuff, except our conversation may have been a bit more colorful.
1. I've meet people that just keep doing what they've been doing. Always trying something new and they've kept moving. They haven't decided that age is going to stop them from living.
2. I've meet people that have decided I can't do that anymore I'm getting to old to Insert what every you find as enjoyment in here (hike, bike, swim, walk, run, travel, ski) These are the ones that have decided maybe conscious or unconsciously that they just can't anymore.
When does this start?
The absolute best way to move faster and safer during a workout is with solid mechanics. Muscling your way through a set of power cleans will only get you so far - this goes for all ages. Strip some of the weight off and work on your form.
The problem is, as our busy lives go on, we tend to eat more or less than we think we do. We underestimate the exact amount of our daily intake because we fail to take into consideration portion sizes (guess what - it's usually much more than what we think)
The summer is fast approaching how have you been doing with you health and fitness goals. We want to help and one of the simple and easiest things to do is remove temptation. For many of us that temptation lives inside our very own Pantry, Refrigerator, and Freezer.
I often hear people say they plan for a Cheat meal or a Cheat day with their nutrition plan. When I hear this, it makes me very sad. One of the things we focus on when working with Nutrition clients is learning how to change behavior patterns to maintain these habits for life long healthy living
